Making Tracks to Toronto and Venice
Before making its way to open the Adelaide Film Festival this October, director John Curran's Australian epic Tracks will journey to Toronto International Film Festival and compete at the 70th Venice Film Festival.
Both Tracks and Ruin, a Cambodian-set romantic drama from Amiel Courtin-Wilson and Michael Cody will compete in Venice, with Greg Mclean’s Wolf Creek 2 and Kitty Green's documentary Ukraine is Not a Brothel screening out of competition.
Tracks will then head to Toronto, where it will screen as part of TIFF's Special Presentations Program, alongside Jonathan Teplitzky's Railway Man, Matthew Saville's Felony and Ivan Sen's Mystery Road, which recently opened the Sydney Film Festival.
"Being selected for Official Competition at Venice followed by a Special Presentation screening at Toronto is the absolute ideal way to launch this film internationally," said producers Emile Sherman and Ian Canning. "Robyn's journey was such an extraordinary one, and we're looking forward to taking audiences from around the world on this journey."
Australian audiences will have their chance to see Mia Wasikowska and Adam Driver in action when Tracks premieres at the AFF opening night on Thursday 10 October.
