In 1983, a series of increasingly violent bank robberies, counterfeiting operations, and armored car heists frightens communities throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Based on a true story, The Order follows FBI agent Terry Husk (Jude Law) as he uncovers the truth behind the crimes which are committed by a group of dangerous domestic terrorists – lead by the radical, charismatic Bob Matthews (Nicholas Hoult) – who are plotting a devastating war against the federal government of the United States.

Director Justin Kurzel (The Snowtown Murders, Nitram) describes The Order as “a foreshadowing of a divided time, a warning shot of what has been and what could come.”

“The Order affirms Kurzel’s status as a formidable auteur, especially when it comes to the dark stuff.”

The Guardian

“This could well be the most searing, lived-in performance of Law’s career.”

Variety

“The Order is the kind of tense reflection on American violence that Hollywood rarely puts on the big screen anymore.”
