AFF Official Competition Jury

The AFF 2026 Official Feature Fiction and Feature Documentary competitions will be decided by a prestigious jury. Their expertise covers a broad range of engagements with the screen, from writing, criticism, exhibition to production.

We thank them for their passionate and dedicated investment in deciding the 2026 winners and awarding two prizes totalling $20,000.

AFF Change Award Jury

Established in 2020, the $5,000 Change Award is for positive or environmental impact and cinema expressing new directions for humanity. This year’s films express both the urgency for change and the need to preserve our best legacies.

With the odds against them across the globe humans rise to the challenge of working for the common good – a village takes on the government when sea life collapses and their way of life is threatened, advocates celebrate and fight for the public parks and reserves which are the legacy of a visionary from a previous generation, journalists come together to make their own platform as one of the last hopes to keep truth above monopolizing interests and others ensure the wonder of music performances are shared with the deaf.

AFF Shorts Award Jury

AFF acknowledges the fresh and new voices that shorts bring to cinema. One filmmaker is recognised for their outstanding work with the AFF 2026 Shorts Award valued at $3,000. Chosen by a jury representing South Australia’s local industry who work in shorts, features and theatre as directors, writers and performers.
