Part Thoreau. Part Harry and the Hendersons. All sasquatch.

This description-defying creature feature stars Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keough as you’ve never seen them – that is, in elaborate bigfoot character makeup. Spanning the gentle change of seasons across the calendar year, Sasquatch Sunset takes on the quality of an observational nature documentary, punctuated with moments of absurd comedy as our heroes encounter natural hazards and hints of encroaching human civilisation, communicating through a series of grunts, groans, and expressive physical gestures. Accompanied by a psychedelic score and stunning landscape vistas, this cult-hit-in-the-making may offer you transcendence, or remind you of the fleetingness of it all, as you take the trip deep into the woods.

“For anyone who is intrigued by the idea of a movie that serves as both a treatise on despair and loneliness, and a delivery vehicle for extravagantly crass toilet humour, weaponised faeces, absurd sight gags and some rather bracing sexual encounters, this rather wonderful oddity ticks all the boxes.”

The Guardian

“Sasquatches may not exist, but miraculously enough, this movie does, and like the creatures it depicts, it must be seen to be believed.”

Variety

Sundance, Berlin, Sydney, Melbourne.
