What happens when roided-up social media influencer, Jim Parfait, who rules Paris’s queer clubs with his bulging pecs, is struck down by the heinously beige plague heterosis? It’s left to nerdy twink Lucien to save the day, if only he can keep his right-wing mum at bay.

Reigning over the hungry gay men of Paris, hairy-chested gym influencer Jim Parfait (voiced by real-life Insta-celeb Alex Ramirès) can command any hook-up he wants. When wide-eyed and weedy closeted twink Lucien (voiced by Belgian star Jérémy Gillet), sneaks into his first big gay rave, he only(fans) has eyes for Jim; but he goes unnoticed by the hunky hulk.
That all changes when Jim contracts a terrifying new plague that’s sweeping the scene: the nefariously bio-engineered heterosis. It’s a straight-laced fate worse than death for the terminally online himbo, whose mighty muscles fade to dadbod. Suddenly, Lucien is all that stands between Jim and irrelevance. Oh, and the Machiavellian machinations of Lucien’s homophobic health minister mother Christine (Elisabeth Wiener, French dubbing artist for Basic Instinct and Black Swan).
Directed by animators Nicolas Athané and Marco Nguyen, Jim Queen was nominated for the Queer Palm and the Camera d’Or for best first feature at Cannes this year. With a villainous cameo by iconic French porn star, François Sagat, Jim Queen is ferociously sexy, chaotically silly and surprisingly sweet.
